Needing medicine when everything is shut is a bad moment to start searching in a second language. This page pulls the nationwide dataset of pharmacy opening hours — including Sunday and public-holiday hours — and shows you what's open right now near you and what stays open late or over holidays, on a map and as a distance-sorted list. How do I find a pharmacy open on a Sunday or public holiday in Korea?
Turn on the “📅 Sundays & holidays” filter above and you'll only see pharmacies that stay open then, sorted by distance from you. Korean public holidays are detected automatically from the national holiday calendar published by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute.
Can I buy medicine late at night?
Turn on “🌙 Open late (after 9pm)”. Most areas have at least one late-night or 24-hour pharmacy, including the government-designated 공공심야약국 (public late-night pharmacies). Calling ahead is safer than assuming — reported hours aren't always current.
I only want to see what's open right now.
Turn on “🟢 Open now” and the list filters to pharmacies currently within their reported operating hours. Bear in mind these are the hours the pharmacy filed with the government, so lunch breaks and unscheduled closures may not show up.
Do pharmacists in Korea speak English?
It varies a lot. In central Seoul and around university and expat neighborhoods, many do. Elsewhere, showing the medicine box, a photo, or the Korean name of what you need works well. Pharmacies here can advise on over-the-counter medicine without an appointment.

The National Medical Center's e-gen emergency medical information service, via Korea's public data portal. Hours are self-reported by each pharmacy and can be out of date, so confirm by phone before a long trip.
